This course is designed especially for students looking to study in universities and colleges where English is the first language. Greenwich College students that study in our academic English course can gain direct entry into some of Australia’s leading universities and colleges through our pathways program.

Overview

Our EAP courses focus on academic English so you can acquire the skills you need to complete tasks at university. These can include:

  • Conducting seminar presentations in English
  • Essay writing
  • Listening while note taking
  • Understanding English in lectures

It’s important to build confidence in these areas as you prepare to work and study with native English speakers. The EAP course is very useful; many native English speakers say they wish they had undertaken such a course before going to university – student life would have been easier!

Pathways
Gain direct entry into some of Australia’s leading institutions through one of our many pathway programs. Greenwich College has articulation agreements with many leading universities and colleges. Students that graduate successfully from EAP do not have to sit for the IELTS or TOEFL tests.

Not Just for University!
While many students choose to take EAP as a direct pathway to an Australian university, many choose this program as an interesting alternative to General English or other academic English courses. The curriculum allows for English to be learned in a wide variety of interesting ways that both challenge and stimulate.

English lessons are always communicative and rely mostly on interaction with all class members. Assessment is conducted throughout the course and closely resembles the kind of tasks that students will undertake at university.
